I think that´ s fine as long as someone holds onto my child´s hand.
I am worried that my child could get hurt wandering out
It´s ok as long as they have security cameras and someone is always in the office.
For safety reasons, there should be a latchable gate barring all entrance and exit points. This not only discourages children from wandering out into the parkinglot and other areas while en route to and from the classroom, but the sight nad sound of someone unlatching and opening the gate gives staff preparation time in case there is an unwanted visitor.

not worry about it. If something comes up, they can always page me or reach me by cell phone if necessary.
ask what the pick-up policy is, and insist on listing on paper who is and is not allowed to pick up your child.
The pick-up policy should be very clear, and during registration, there should be a place for listing alternate names and phone numbers for authorized persons. There should also be a sign out sheet to be signed each time your child is picked up. Positive identification should also be required.

You think, no, this is terrible and leave.
You think how great it is; they must do a lot of learning activities.
You look carefully at the quality and construction of the toy, as well as its purpose before making a decision.
Many care providers prefer toys that stimulate a child´s imaginationrather than those that have a particular set purpose. Take a good look at the toys. Are they designed for discovery and for imaginative play? Are they safely constructed? These are all things that are to be looked at rather than brand names and quantity. Think quality, rather than quantity.

central heating instead of a fireplace.
a child-safe fire surround to prevent children gaining access to the fireplace or the hearth.
glass doors to keep the children away from burning logs or coal.
A properly maintained fireplace can be a nice cosy and very homelike way to heat a home. Several manufactureres make wire cage type fire surrounds that keep children and pets out of harm´s way, and these should be in use even once the fire has died down as embers can be quite hot and glass doors retain heat.

You look to see if it has a lock.
You get upset. Medicine cabinets should not be in a bathroom where your child has access.
As long as cabinets where medicines and cleansers are stored are kept properly locked and secured at all times, there is no reason why it has to be somewhere inaccessible. After all, in an emergency, there might be use for the contents. ALWAYS ask to see where they keep medicines, cleansers, and other products when originally choosing a provider. Better safe, than sorry.
